My husband and I are in a VERY good spot in our lives! I have an awesome new position at work, I am the new Assistant to the Director at the Daycare/Preschool I have worked part time at for over 3 years! This will help stabilize our lives and the direction we want to go. As much as I would love to stay home with my little one, The reality is that I can't. We have plans to be financially free in the near future and buy a new house! With this new job the only debt we should in about in year (or less) is the house and hopefully a few years after that, that will be gone to!
I have had a hard time with this adjustment, it has cost me some pretty amazing friendships. I have lost friends before, some really long term ones at that, and it hurts every time it happens. You throw your life into these people and then with a snap of the fingers, their gone.
I will make it through because I have an awesome family and even more Awesome GOD! Who loves me and supports my every decision.

Busy, Busy, Busy
I've been busy today!! I love being able to make things "pretty"! I have a friend that asked me to personalize sand buckets and cups for a birthday party and I went "Vinyl" happy!

For the buckets and cups, I used the "Rustler" font.
I actually made bucket and shovel for every cup! Just didn't take all the pictures!
Then I decided to decorate a cupcake carrier and my cooler!
The cupcake carrier got the cute "tinas baby shower" font!
And my favorite for the day got the "Janda Happy Day" font used on it! I absolutely love the way this turned out!

I love Pinterest!
II am in love with the things that I find on Pinterest to fix the things with my house that need to be! Today I found where I can fix the spot on my antique table that was messed up! I mixed 3/4 cup of canola oil with 1/4 cup of vinegar and rubbed it on the spot that needed it and this was my result...
It actually worked!!!! I can't believe it! I am so happy that my table is beautiful again!

I'm trying!
In an attempt to be happy in my home, I am cleaning out and redecorating!!! I really want to lighten up my color palette. All our colors are dark....and depressing. I am also VERY frugal, I will NOT buy anything new that I can make out of something else! With that, I made a "new" shower curtain out of a flat, twin sheet and pillowcases!
I am in Love with it!! I paid $2 for the sheet and 79cents for the pillowcase! I had some gray/white seersucker that matched perfectly with the bright yellow! It has already changed the look of the bathroom. I still need to update the wall art and rugs but this is most definately a step in the right direction!

Trying to be content in a "me, me,me" world!
These days nothing is good enough, everyone "deserves" more. This is just crazy! Your life is what you make of it! I'm starting to realize this!
I am always trying to find things to make tasks easier, nicer, prettier...But does that stuff really matter...
I have been struggling with being discontent in my home. I see all these amazing ideas and pictures of other's homes on Pinterest and Facebook. I shouldn't live my life in envy of what they have. We live in a 950 sq ft home, it has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. There are only three of us here, so why do we think we need a bigger house with more rooms, WE DON"T!!! I just to be content with what I have. I need to be thankful that we own a home, not just a home, but a HAPPY, HEALTHY family in that home! I need to worry less about what is wrong with it and focus on what I can to with it to make me happy with it again! In the world right now, everything is made out to be disposable, when you are fed up or "done" with it, move on. It doesn't work that way. We need to make the best of everyday, we are never guaranteed tomorrow and need to not spend everyday worrying about tomorrow!

The quest to being the "Perfect Mom"
As a mom, we stress about EVERYTHING! We worry about what are house looks like, if that certain outfit is clean for hubby, what's for dinner, what are child(ren) are doing at any given moment, and what sales are out there this week!
I can't stand to feel overwhelmed! At this moment in my life, my house is a wreck, we have a least 5-6 loads of dirty laundry, I couldn't even begin to tell you what is in my fridge that I could make to eat, when I asked my child what she was doing, I got this in response, "It's ok Mommy, I won't hurt myself the scissors!" (they were safety scissors and she isn't allowed to use them without supervision because she thinks she is a (hair dresser) and I haven't seen a store in a week! But I have to say that we have had an amazing weekend so far...
We blew bubbles, danced and sang in the grass, we went to one of the most powerful ballet recitals ever (that my baby was a part of) and then settled with a movie! At that moment when my 4 yr old was laughing and having an amazing time, none of the above stuff mattered! It was just about our family being together! I can say that I may not have it all together, but my family is happy and healthy.
